Bring on the sparkle. Today’s card is a shimmering golden butterfly. Happy Summer! Happy Day!
This card has a nice warmth to it with a Gold Stampin’ Embossed Swallowtail and a bit of Brush Gold and Glimmer Gold paper for extra bling. The base of the card is Crumb Cake card stock with layers of Soft Suede and direct stamping on Gold Soiree Designer Series Paper in Crisp Cantaloupe.
I love heat embossing on my projects. It is one of the first techniques that folks new to stamping are really amazed with. Heating that dust and like magic it takes your paper projects to a new level. Different textures mixed on your project usually really add a lot. For this card you can see I used three types of paper and a technique but this is still a really easy and fast card to make.
Stamping and embossing on Designer Series Paper can be a great tip to make the most of all your supplies. Giving your paper supplies a new look using the same supplies just in a new combination. Single color or monochromatic patterned Designer Series papers and large stamps work best for this technique. You can also stamp a pattern on your patterned paper by using a small stamp and randomly stamping a new background pattern over the paper pattern.
Stamping images in VersaMark Ink with Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder over Designer Series Paper patterns can make any paper like the speciality papers in Gold Soiree. This side of the paper (Crisp Cantaloupe) does not have any metallic gold ink in its pattern so you can add your own.
I hope you are enjoying the summer! I am off to do some yard work before the heat gets too high. If you would like to have your own Stampin’ Embossing Party shoot me an email and we can get it on the calendar and show your friends this fun technique in person. Thanks for stopping by today, Diana
