This last week a did a sweet little bridal show with my friend Mimi. I’ll be sharing some of my ideas and samples with you all week…here is something you might want to start making now…
Here is our display table with a close-up on the cake…we met SO many super sweet and totally Do It Yourself Brides…can’t wait to help them.
The cake is made by printing out this PDF from Stampin’ Up!… Download Piece-A-Cake. You’ll print them out, carefully cut them out, then score and fold…over and over. Give yourself PLENTY of time. I did not even make the third and bottom layer yet…I added it to my to-do-list before my next event.
I used my Big Shot and the Textured Impression Folder Vintage Wallpaper on the top layer of cake pieces. I just folded the cut out so most of it fit in the folder. It looked nice and adds a lot of dimension…but be careful, it makes it rather fragile with all the scoring and folding you have going on.
The flowers are made using Pretty in Pink Card Stock and the Blossom Punch with the Fun Flowers Bigz L Die I curled the edges with my bonefolder and glued them all together with glue dots. I used two of the smaller flowers from the Fun Flower die and one punched flower to make each Pretty in Pink Flower.
Three finished flowers are glued together on a 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle punched piece of card stock and then glued to the cake. I did attach just about every other slice of cake to each other for stability with more glue dots.
Have a WONDERFUL week. If you are planning any events let me know how I can help you with your own DIY projects. Diana
