The magic of a sponged edge to create a Shabby Chic look. Add your lovely vintage circus image, cool pastels of Pool Party and Pretty in Pink and boom, Shabby Chic Baby Card. The Flower Trim doesn't hurt either…
This card turned out super sweet, I think. It uses a bunch of my favorite techniques and supplies. I incorporated Heat Embossing, Sponging, Textures from both the Watercolor Paper and Texture Embossing, Designer Series Patterned Paper and Ribbon.
All the stamping is done with VersaMark Ink, and heat embossing with Pool Party and White Stampin' Embossing Powder. The Elephant from the stamp set Your Amazing is stamped on Watercolor paper. The Pool Party oval cut from Pool Party Card Stock with Ovals Collection Framelits Dies is textured using my Big Shot and embossing folder Folder Cloudy Day.
Ribbon embellishments include, 5/8" Flower Trim, Pretty in Pink Scallop Dots Ribbon, and bit of Linen Thread tied in a bow. The background patterned pink paper is from Designer Series Paper Tea for Two. The card base is Crumb Cake Card Stock. All the edges are sponged using Sponge Daubers and Crumb Cake Classic Ink.
I love the antique feel the Crumb Cake ink on the edges gives your creations. You may not think you like vintage style, but once you try it you might like it "Sam I am"…(smile). I know once I tried it I am getting a bit addicted to it. Several of my projects match up so well this week with just a touch of the antiquing and colors bring them together like a matched set.
You can use this "tip" to for your next celebration. I am working on ideas for Jessica's baby shower, but you could use the same idea with any party or event.
1. Pick your event.
2. Pick your colors or theme.
3. Start making your invitations and decor staying in your colors and or theme. That is what brings it all together at the end of your creating.
You can go TOTALLY "Martha" and make everything from centerpieces to handmade invitations, or you can keep it simple and sweet and just add a few special handmade items to your party.
What events are you creating or planning for this spring and summer. If you need help or supplies I am here to help. You can purchase all the supplies I used here in my Stampin' Store. Happy crafting and stamping. Diana
