Need a new "LOVE" Banner for your Valentine? Need a cute decor item too? How about a "two-for-one". Check out my 2013 Valentine's Day Banner…
Are you wondering what it is hanging on? It is a twin bed mattress frame. "Up-cycle baby!" I saw the idea on Pintrest (of course). I had not saved James baby crib frame, but I do have the twin bed frame (it was mine when I was a kid, lol.) I have been using it as a "pin-board" and cleaned it off so I put together a little "love" decor in the studio. What do you think?
I had a great time making it. The starting point was inspiration from Shelli at Leadership. I just used a set color pallet of Blacks, Browns, Bolds, Very Vanilla and of course for Valentine's Day, Real Red!
Each banner is 5" x 8 1/2". I used all Stampin' Up! supplies execpt some Wilton Heart Doilies and vintage sewing pattern paper. (yes some of the Stampin' Up! paper is retired…but that is why you have to buy what you love, when you can…tick-tock.
I also used the Chalk Board Technique that is really popular right now, I love the vintage-romantic feel of the project. It really make me want to craft-up a batch of Valentine's and Love Notes.
Pick your colors. Picking a few colors to focus on really helps your banner look cohesive. Grab your supplies that fit your color focus, put on some tunes and just play. If you create your banner flags and just start cutting out embellishments your banners will almost make themselves.
Do you have your plans made yet? I have done my shopping, and just have a little more crafting to do for those special ones in my world. What are you crafting for February 14th?
Let me know if you need any help or supplies. Thanks for stopping by today, Diana
